• Faculty of Dentistry, Jamia Islamia, Delhi: JMI reserves a total of 3 seats under internal quota. The remaining 47 seats are open to all according to the category.

• VMMC and SJH: This institute reserves 15% + AIR seats for AIQ. The remaining seats are reserved for the students who are based in Delhi and have completed their Class 11 and 12 from the institute.

Question: Is there a reservation policy at deemed universities?

Answer: No. In deemed universities across the country there are no reservations for SC/ST/OBC.

Answer: In AIQ central universities, candidates who fall under the PWD category of NEET 2023 reservation receive a 5% quota. Candidates must obtain a disability certificate from one of the following assessment boards:

Question: In NEET 2023 counselling, what is the All India Rank (AIR)?

Answer: In the NEET 2023 examination, the All India Rank of an aspirant is the rank achieved by the candidate on an all-India basis. It is the combined rank regardless of the categories. Each candidate who qualifies for the NEET 2023 exam will receive an AIR rank.

NEET counselling 2023 FAQs: Seat Allotment Process

Question: How does the NEET seat allotment process work?

Answer: To get detailed information about NEET 2023 seat allotment, candidates may refer to the following points.

1. To participate in NEET 2023 counselling, candidates must register themselves and pay the counselling fee.

2. Candidates will need to enter their choices of colleges and lock them based on their preferences.

3. Authorities will then publish seat allotment lists for the first round of NEET counselling 2023.

4. In order to complete the admission process, candidates will need to report to the college to get their documents verified. In this process, candidates have the freedom to enter and exit.

5. The authorities will publish the seat matrix for vacant seats by college after the first round of NEET 2023 counselling. Thereafter, NEET 2023 counselling registration will begin. Candidates who registered in the first round will not have to register again. They only need to re-arrange their preferences according to the published list (if required).

6. Again, the authorities will then publish the seat allotment for the second round of NEET 2023 counselling. From this process candidates will be able to exit only after forfeiture of security fee.

7. The last step is to report to the allotted colleges on the scheduled date. When an aspirant joins the college, he or she is not allowed to vacate the seat after joining.

8. The NEET counselling process for 2023 will consist of four rounds followed by a mop-up and stray round.

Question: In the mop-up round, how are seats allocated to deemed/central universities?

Answer: For the mop-up round of counselling, deemed/central universities follow the below-listed procedure.

• It is mandatory for candidates who haven't registered for the first or second round of counselling to register for the mop-up round of counselling for NEET 2023.

• Applicants will need to enter their choices and lock them, then the authorities will publish allotment lists.

• Applicants must report to their allotted colleges.

It should be noted that deemed/central universities will conduct a stray vacancy round if seats remain vacant. Colleges will receive 10 times as many vacant seats from DGHS. For this round, fresh registrations will not be accepted.

Question: Based on my rank, how do I find out what seat I will likely be assigned?

Answer: A candidate can refer to previous NEET seat allotment lists to get an idea of the seat they are likely to secure based on their rank. However, the data provided cannot be relied upon for accuracy. The registration period for round one of NEET 2023 counselling also offers candidates the opportunity to participate in mock counselling and to receive an indicative seat allocation.

Question: Is it possible for a candidate to correct his/her mistake if he/she has mistakenly chosen deemed university seats instead of AIQ seats?

Answer: Yes, candidates have a one-time chance to correct this error. At the time of NEET registration , they can use the reset initialization option.

Question: Having joined the seat assigned to me in round one of NEET counselling 2023, am I eligible to participate in subsequent rounds?

Answer: Candidates have the facility to freely enter and quit the first round of counselling. In such cases, candidates allotted a college in the first round must enrol and complete the admission process.

After completing this, they might choose to take part in the following rounds and request an upgrade while giving up the allotted seat. To participate in round 2 of the counselling process, candidates must utilise their round 1 login credentials. Candidates may participate in NEET 2023's second round of counselling even if they have not yet reported to or joined their assigned college.

Question: In case candidates do not join the college allocated to them in round 2 of counselling of NEET but wish to participate in the mop-up round for Deemed/Central universities, do they need to re-register?

Answer: Yes. For the mop-up round of NEET 2023 counselling, which will be held by Deemed/Central universities, candidates must complete a new registration. The candidates will have to give up the security deposit, though.

Question: Which applicants are ineligible for the NEET 2023 second round of counselling?

Answer: Candidates will not be eligible for second round counselling if they submitted incomplete documentation during the NEET 2023 admissions procedure.

Question:Who is qualified for the NEET second counselling round?

Answer: In order to understand the eligibility criteria for NEET 2023's second round of counselling, please read the following points:

• Group I: Candidates who were registered but not allotted any seat in the first round of NEET 2023 counselling.

• Group II: Reserved candidates who have secured a reserved quota seat but the allotment got cancelled in the first round of document verification will be able to appear in the second round of counselling. This time the seat will be allotted with a changed category provided there are seats available.

Answer: In accordance with the guidelines, seats once allotted to a candidate in the NEET UG counselling second round cannot be rescinded. Nevertheless, a candidate can forfeit their security money in order to exit round 2 of the selection process.

NEET 2023 Counselling FAQs: Registration

Question: If I already registered for round one of NEET counselling, do I need to re-register for round 2?

Answer: Candidates who signed up for round one but were not given a seat are not needed to sign up again. Fresh registration is necessary for round 2 for candidates who

• Have not registered in Round 1 (with full payment of fees).

• Have Resigned / Not reported in Round-1 need not register again.

Question: Will the authorities accept the documentation I provide in my regional language ?

Answer: No, Only Hindi or English documents can be submitted. There are some state authorities that only accept certificates in English. Therefore, if the document is in a regional language, it is advised for the candidates to bring an English translation of an attested copy of the document.

Question: Will a candidate still be able to take part in NEET counselling if their name is misspelt on their application and supporting documents?

Answer: Yes, candidates will be permitted to take part in counselling, but they will need to present an affidavit as identification proof

Question: For each round of NEET 2023 counselling, what is the exit policy and forfeiture of security money?

How many choices can be filled in NEET counselling?

Candidates can fill in as many choices according to preferences. There is no limit on the number of choices. candidates need to lock the choice on or before the last date. It will be locked automatically if a candidate forgets. Once locked, candidates will not be able to add choices or order the college list.

Question: How many college options may the candidate offer?

Answer: Candidates are allowed to fill as many colleges as they choose during choice filling.

Question: What should candidates keep in mind when they make their selections for NEET's second round of counselling?

Answer: The following considerations should be kept in mind when filling out the choice:

• Candidates will be allotted seats based on the choices filled during this round.

• If the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to make changes in them. Thus, candidates should lock the choices once they are sure of it otherwise only saving them is advisable.

NEET Counselling 2023 FAQs: Registration Fee

Question: What registration fee will candidates have to pay to participate in NEET 2023 counselling?

Answer: At the time of registration for NEET 2023 counselling, candidates will have to pay two types of fee:

• Refundable security deposit

• Non-refundable security deposit

• Non-refundable security deposit - ₹5,000

• Refundable registration fee - ₹2,00,000

• Total amount to be paid - ₹2,05,000

NEET counselling 2023 registration fee - 15% AIQ, Central Universities, AFMS & ESI

• Non-refundable security deposit - ₹1000 for UR (and Rs. 500 for SC, ST, OBC, and PH candidates)

• Refundable registration fee - ₹Rs. 10,000 (and Rs. 5000 for SC, ST, OBC, and PH candidates)

• Total amount to be paid - ₹11,000

Question: What registration fee should candidates pay if they wish to register for both AIQ and Deemed University?

Answer: In such a situation, candidates will have to pay the fee more in amount which means they will have to pay registration fee of Deemed universities i.e. ₹2,05,000

NEET 2023 Counselling FAQs: Exit and Security Money Forfeiture Rules

Question: What does "free exit" entail in the context of NEET counselling?

Answer: Only in the first round do candidates have the option of a free exit. If a candidate chooses free leave, he or she will be permitted to take part in the second round of counselling without having to forfeit the security deposit.

Question: In round 2, what does exit with forfeiture mean?

Answer: When candidates exit with forfeiture in round 2, the security amount will be forfeited provided they have not accepted the allocated seat in NEET 2023 counselling round 2.

Question: If the authority forfeits the security money, when does it do so?

Answer: A forfeiture of security money occurs when:

• If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the round 2 or mop-up round but he/she does not wish to join the allotted college.

• If a candidate has furnished incorrect or incomplete information at any step of the admission process.

Question: What is the process for refunding the security amount of the NEET counselling?

Answer: At the conclusion of the counselling process, the security deposit for NEET 2023 is refunded.

• If a candidate has been allotted a seat then his/her security money will be refunded to the allotted college which gets adjusted in the annual fee.

• If a candidate has not been allotted any seat, his/her security money will be refunded to the bank account (details of which were provided at the time of registration).

NEET 2023 Counselling FAQs: Upgradation of seats

Question: Are there any up-gradation opportunities available in the second round of counselling for Deemed/ Central Universities in order to attend the mop-up round of counselling for Central/ Deemed Universities?

Answer: In NTA NEET 2023 round 2, candidates who were allocated colleges for deemed/central universities will not be eligible for upgradation. The candidates in such situations cannot vacate the AIQ seats and will no longer be eligible for further counselling rounds, including stray vacancy counselling.

Question: Do I have to enrol in the allotted college I was given if my upgraded choice was given to me after round one?

Answer: Yes, because the candidate's seat will be immediately cancelled during round 1 of counselling. The candidate will need to report to the institution assigned in round 2 of NEET 2023 counselling with a relieving letter from the college assigned in round 1 after the seat allotment result is published.

Question: What would happen if I didn't join the college that was allotted to me following my upgrade?

Answer: The security deposit will be lost if an applicant declines to occupy the upgraded seat that has been assigned to him or her. The candidate may then reapply to participate in the mop-up round of counselling.
